Why are Asda removing plastic bags from online shopping?Print
At Asda, we're working hard to reduce plastic wherever we can. From July 31 2019, we're going to remove the option to choose to have carrier bags with Home Delivery and Click & Collect orders.
By doing this, we'll remove over 500 tonnes of plastic from circulation each year.
What does this mean for me?
For Deliveries, our drivers will offer to help unpack your shopping at the doorstep and bring it inside if required. If you need additional assistance, please let us know in the delivery notes section when you checkout so our drivers are aware ahead of your delivery.
For Click & Collect, please remember to bring bags when you collect your order. We offer a range of Bags for Life in our stores - and if it wears out, we'll replace it.
If you use our Click & Collect lockers, we will still pack your order in bags for life if you require them for unloading your shopping.
For hygiene reasons, we will still put any fresh meat or fish items in small plastic bags - but we'll keep these to a minimum.
