What is Asda's refund & exchange policy?

We are proud of all the products we sell in our stores, however due to the variety of different  types of products we sell, we have different refund and exchange policies for some of our items.

If you've purchased an item online, we would refer you to the terms and conditions associated with your purchase. This will inform you of our guidelines. If you visit the website you bought the item or service from, this will have all the details you will need.

You can return most items (if they are unused and are able to be resold) for a full refund within 28 days (exceptions apply). It helps us if you have a receipt or proof of purchase, so we can see how much you paid and where the item was bought.


We are so proud of our own branded food products that if you aren't 100% satisfied with them we will refund and replace these for you with something else for you as part of our "TRY ME LOVE ME" policy. All we ask is that you return the packing back to store on your next visit to our Customer Service Desk. This allows us to log the details about where and when the item was made so we can monitor the feedback we receive on our Product Quality Systems. Without this information we are unable to continue to improve our recipes and make our suppliers aware of any issues.


All the electrical items we sell require a receipt or proof of purchase for us to help you. If you are looking to refund or exchange an item if you've changed your mind this can be done within 28 days if the item is unused and in a saleable condition. If an item has developed a fault in the first 12 months we will happily help if you return the item back to one of our stores. We require this so we can see when and how much you paid for an item.


Most of our George items have a 100 day satisfaction guarantee (exceptions apply). If you need to return one of George items a receipt or proof of purchase is preferred so we can refund or exchange the amount back to the tender type you used, and so we can see how much you paid. If you haven't got these we can only refund an item at the last selling price onto one of our gift cards, George 100 Day Guarantee.
